{"id":4467,"date":"2019-03-10T14:52:31","date_gmt":"2019-03-10T21:52:31","guid":{"rendered":"http:\/\/www.mondayministry.com\/blog\/?p=4467"},"modified":"2019-03-10T14:52:36","modified_gmt":"2019-03-10T21:52:36","slug":"u%ef%bb%bfnworthy-%ef%bb%bf","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/www.mondayministry.com\/blog\/2019\/03\/10\/u%ef%bb%bfnworthy-%ef%bb%bf\/","title":{"rendered":"U\ufeffnworthy \ufeff"},"content":{"rendered":"\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">3-11-19<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">There\nare many \u201cnew\u201d Christians, converts, and born-again believers,\nwho experience many fresh insights into God; or at least their\nrelationship with Him.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">One\nof those feelings, and I speak from experience, is to be overwhelmed\nby an awareness of God\u2019s majesty, and all those Omnis \u2013\nOmnipresent, Omniscient, Omnipotent.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">Sometimes\nthat flood of awareness is manifested in the type of awe that makes\nus feel unworthy. We realize that we are \u201cthe apples of God\u2019s\neye,\u201d and that He loved <em>us <\/em>so\nmuch that He sent His only-begotten Son into the world to provide a\nway for our salvation.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">\nAnd\nwe know that we can \u201cboldly approach the Throne of Grace.\u201d<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">\nBut\nwe become aware that our righteousness is still as filthy rags\ncompared to the glory and holiness of God.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">\nSo\nmany of us consider a proper prayer to begin with the confession that\nwe are unworthy in His sight. We humble ourselves, begging that He\ndeign to hear our prayers.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">Even\nseasoned Christians, not only \u201cbaby Christians,\u201d will pray to God\nin this manner. He created the heavens and the earth; and despite His\nknowing the numbers of hairs on our heads, it easy to see ourselves\nas microscopic sinners in the great hands of a God such as He.\nWhether He is angry or merciful, surely we should be humble and\nrealize how insignificant we are \u2013 \n<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">\u2013\nexcept\nthat we are not.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">If\nyou want to pray properly, you should see yourself properly. That is,\nas God sees you. The Bible more often says \u201cworthily.\u201d Not to be\nUnworthy \u2013 meaning that Worthiness is to understand and respect\nGod\u2019s own perspective. \n<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">\nWe\nare Worthy because it is He that hath made us, and not we ourselves.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">\nWe\nare Worthy because He loved us with an everlasting love, before we\nwere formed or born.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">\nWe\nare Worthy because He became flesh and dwelt among us; the Incarnate\nJesus identified with our pain and suffering and joys; He was\npersecuted, endured agony, injustice, torture, rejection, desertion,\ncrucifixion, and death for us; and rose and ascended to assert His\ndivinity that we can believe and be saved\u2026<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">Would\nthe Lord do all <em>that<\/em>\nif we are unworthy?<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">Ah,\nsome might say, we were unworthy while we were yet sinners. And now\nthings are different. Yes! Just so. But if you understand that\ndividing-line\u2026 do you act like it?<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">Without\nbeing presumptuous, we must realize that \u2013 whatever our sins of the\npast or present; or however we might feel about ourselves for the\nmoment \u2013 God cannot see those things!<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">\nWhen\nyou pray, and Jesus is in your heart, God sees not you, but Jesus. He\nhears your prayers, but sees not the \u201cold you\u201d but the Jesus in\nyou. When He looks down, so to speak, you might think He sees the\nsinner, but when you are covered in the blood \u2013 the sign of\natonement and forgiveness that was foreshadowed ages before Jesus, in\nthe \u201cPass-over,\u201d \u2013 He sees the Blood before He sees you.
