The villages are in the two districts of Gashish and Ropp in the Barkin Ladi Local Government Area (LGA).<\/p>\n<p>\u201cIn Nghar village alone, about 70 corpses of Christians were recovered and the entire village has been burnt down by the Fulani herdsmen,\u201d area resident Thomas Chuwang, 45, told Morning Star News&#8230; adding that the victims there were members of the Church of Christ in Nations (COCIN).<\/p>\n<p>NEWS ITEM: June 27, 2018 \u2013<br \/>\n<strong>China\u2019s \u201cUnderground\u201d Churches Told to \u201cSeek Guidance\u201d from State-Approved Bodies<\/strong><br \/>\nA newly implemented directive from the Chinese government forces Protestant \u201chouse churches\u201d and Catholic \u201cunderground\u201d communities to seek \u201cguidance\u201d from recognised religious organisations\u2026.<\/p>\n<p>One hundred churches were closed in Nanyang, in central Henan province\u2026 \u201cChristians who used their own church building for meetings were targeted, and their buildings closed.\u201d Consequently\u2026 Christians had gone back to meeting in homes. <\/p>\n<p>NEWS ITEM: July 10, 2018 \u2013<br \/>\n<strong>Twenty Christians Severely Injured in Assault on Prayer Gathering in Northern India<\/strong><br \/>\nInternational Christian Concern (ICC) has learned that last Monday, July 2, 20 Christians were seriously injured in an assault on a prayer meeting in Raikashipur village, located in the Pratapgarh District of India\u2019s Uttar Pradesh State. According to local reports, a mob of 35 Hindu radicals stormed the meeting and beat the group of over 150 Christians gathered for prayer. Following the assault, the Pradhan (village president) filed multiple false criminal charges against six of the Christian victims.<\/p>\n<p>NEWS ITEM: July 27, 2018 \u2013<br \/>\n<strong>Christian North Korean Defector Speaks Out against Persecution and Indifference<\/strong><br \/>\nA Christian woman who defected from North Korea said the world cannot \u201cjust sit and keep watching\u201d as North Korea persecutes Christians and others.<\/p>\n<p>Ji Hyeona spoke at the US State Department\u2019s Ministerial to Advance Religious Freedom event at the Harry S Truman Building this week. She told her story of abuse and torture while trying to escape North Korea.<\/p>\n<p>\u201cSince I first escaped from North Korea in 1998, I have since escaped from the North a total of four times and got repatriated to the North three times until I finally came to South Korea in 2007,\u201d Ji said. \u201cIn between, I fell victim to human trafficking and I was also subjected to abortion violently forced on me even with no anesthesia because the North Korean regime couldn&#8217;t accept what they call \u201cmixed love\u201d\u2026.<\/p>\n<p>\u201cWe can not just sit and keep watching what they are doing because indifference is the most tragic tool that puts people to death and kills them,\u201d she said, \u201cDr. Martin Luther King, Jr. once said: \u2018The ultimate tragedy is not the oppression and cruelty by the bad people but the silence over that by the good people.\u2019\u201d<\/p>\n<p>NEWS ITEM: July 31, 2018 \u2013<br \/>\n<strong>Assault on Christian Leader in Nepal Reflects Growing Threat<\/strong><br \/>\nPastor Sagar Baizu, 46, had finished one meeting and had an hour before the next one, so he decided to stop at a caf\u00e9 on a major thoroughfare in Kathmandu, capital of Nepal, on July 19.<\/p>\n<p>As he was about to sip a coffee in the crowded caf\u00e9 at 2 p.m., six to eight men suddenly attacked the spokesperson and co-general secretary of the Federation of National Christians in Nepal (FNCN) from behind.<\/p>\n<p>\u201cThey beat me for a minute and a half and suddenly fled the site,\u201d Pastor Baizu told Morning Star News. \u201cThey said, \u2018We will blast your church and all the churches with bombs and shoot you and all your leaders.\u2019\u201d<\/p>\n<p>NEWS ITEM: Aug 1, 2018 \u2013<br \/>\n<strong>Rwanda Closes More Than 8,000 Churches In Major Crackdown<\/strong><br \/>\nMore than 8,000 churches throughout Rwanda have been closed by the government as part of an alleged crackdown on unsafe structures, although religious liberty advocates say the government is closing congregations that should be considered acceptable.<\/p>\n<p>Christians in the country fear the movement is a cover for the government\u2019s drive toward secularism\u2026. One church was closed during a wedding, with the guests \u201ctold to leave the church during the service,\u201d World Watch Monitor reported.<\/p>\n<p>Churches have only 15 days to make the required changes upon being reported by the government. The Rwandan source said in some instances, even house meetings are banned.<\/p>\n<p>Pastors are now required by the government to have degrees from accredited institutions. Bible schools are mandated to teach science and technology in order to teach theology. Among the other rules, access roads to churches must be paved and inside walls and ceilings must be plastered and painted, according to World Watch Monitor.<\/p>\n<p>NEWS ITEM: Aug 16, 2018 \u2013<br \/>\n<strong>Atheist Military Group Files Complaint Against Decorated USAF General<\/strong><br \/>\nCBN reports that the Military Religious Freedom Foundation (MRFF) has filed a complaint against Brigadier Gen. E. John Teichert this week. The MRFF filed this complaint to Defense Secretary James Mattis requesting an investigation into Teichert, the newly installed commander of the 412 Test Wing at Edwards Air Force Base in California.<\/p>\n<p>The MRFF is claiming that Teichert\u2019s website is violating rule against religious proselytizing that the Air Force and Defense Department have in place. On his website Teichert describes himself in the following way:<\/p>\n<p>\u201cJohn is an active duty Brigadier General who has served in the United States Air Force since 1994, and who was saved by grace through faith in Christ in 2004. He has commanded at the wing, group and squadron levels, and is currently serving as Air Force commander. The Lord has blessed his career while burdening his heart with the need for our nation to return to its Christian foundation. He serves alongside his amazing wife of 20 years and their three incredible children.
